Brian Blake – Chairman
British-born Brian Blake, 71, was an early pioneer of high street insurance and served as shareholder and managing director of Swinton Insurance until its sale to Sun Alliance in 1988. He then founded Financial Options which was sold to Mysis in 1992 for over £40 million. A successful entrepreneur, he has also launched profitable businesses in travel, retail and hospitality. He currently resides in Vanuatu where he built a boutique hotel which he sold in 2008. He is also has a home in Spain which is where TipC was started.
John Candia – Chief Executive
British-born John Candia Massey, 38, grew up in Spain and is bilingual. After four years in the British Army, John was director and founder of two Spanish companies, firstly the John Candia Group SL specialising in real estate and property development for six years, followed by five years of property development with Candia Group Developments SL. He currently resides in Mallorca, Spain.
Amy Candia – Director
Amy Candia, 36, was born in Chatham, Ontario, Canada and worked as professional dancer and actress during her twenties. Her career brought her to Mallorca in 2000 which enabled her to continue acting and dancing while studying Spanish. In 2006 she met property developer John Candia having by then developed a career in real estate, working for MGI and Cluttons in Palma de Mallorca. In January Amy founded The iProperty Company with husband John Candia and business partner Brian Blake where she focuses on marketing and business development.
Fernando Rodriguez – Technical Development
Fernando Rodriguez, 36, is bilingual and was born in Uruguay. He has lived in Mallorca, Spain with his family for seven years. His experience ranges from technology and open source consulting to security and programming across a wide range of platforms and languages. Preferring to work for a mix of large and small companies, his impressive track record includes programming for companies such as Nestle, a credit card online system for Cabal and software architecture for NetPlay TV Spain using over 23 different programming languages.
Dawn Blake – Marketing Communications
Beginning in advertising with Saatchi & Saatchi (Manchester), Dawn Blake, 49, spent most of her career in public relations with consultancies such as Powell’s, in Manchester, Paragon (Shandwick) and Harrison Cowley. She then co-founded Prophecy PR specialising in crisis management and strategic communications. Her experience also includes four years with worldwide continuity promotions company Wallace International, working in London, France and Holland. She later set-up an online company and also worked as a freelance journalist in Mallorca where she still lives. She now works as part of the iProperty team in marketing and communications.
